S.S. Ile De France

A French ocean liner built for the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique launched in 1926. This was the ship Jan Gabrial sailed back to the USA on from France in 1934. Jan’s departure became the basis of Lowry's short story 'In Le Havre'.
